These are the things I take with me.
From me they will never part.
I treat them as a key
To unlock the secrets of my heart
I take his voice whispering near
Unspoken words to say
Words I long to hear
Yet they are memories to replay
I take his arms to hold me tight
Safe, secure, and so strong
It feels totally right
Without his arms there I feel wrong
I take his eyes to gaze into
The windows to his soul
I don’t know what I’d so
His look fulfills me, makes me whole
I take his touch as soft as wind
Gently caressing me
To soothe, to sway, to mend
A true friend he will always be
I take my dreams of he and I
And the life that we share
A love that can not die
To part with it I do not dare
All these I take, yet leave behind
My soul, my spirit light
Burning deep, long, and kind
To give sweet dreams all through the night.
